Terms of Use

ROOTS COSMO is operated by ROOTS COSMO PRIVATE LIMITED (“we”). By opening an account you confirm you are an Indian resident aged 18 or above and that the information you provide is true.

1. Nature of the product

  • Digital gold represents 24K (999.9) gold purchased on your behalf and held with our custody partner (Secured Bullion Depository, India).
  • Digital gold is not a security, deposit or mutual fund and is not regulated by SEBI or RBI. There is no investor-protection or grievance mechanism of those regulators.
  • Gold prices move with the market. You can lose money. No return is promised.

2. Prices, GST and spread

  • Buy prices are shown excluding and including GST (currently 3%). The price is locked for 5 minutes once you confirm an order.
  • The sell price is lower than the buy price (the “spread”). No GST is charged when you sell.

3. KYC, selling and withdrawals

  • KYC (PAN and Aadhaar) is required to sell, withdraw and enter draws, and may be required to buy above a limit, as per the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002.
  • Sale proceeds are credited to your in-app wallet and paid only to a bank account / UPI ID in your own name after verification.
  • We may hold, reverse or report transactions that appear fraudulent or unlawful.

4. Account security

Keep your password and OTPs secret. We will never ask for your OTP or password by phone, SMS or email.

5. Grievances

Privacy Policy

We process personal data under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

  • What we collect: name, mobile, email, PAN, last 4 digits of Aadhaar, date of birth, address, KYC document images, bank / UPI details, device and IP logs, transaction history.
  • What we do not store: your full Aadhaar number. Bank account numbers are encrypted at rest.
  • Why: to open and operate your account, comply with KYC/AML law, prevent fraud, settle payments and run draws.
  • Sharing: only with our custody partner, payment gateway, SMS/email providers, KYC verification providers, auditors and authorities when required by law.
  • Retention: KYC and transaction records are kept for the period required under PMLA rules after the account is closed.

Weekly Lucky Draw Rules

  • Each draw is announced with its prize, number of winners, entry window, eligibility rules and a SHA-256 hash of the secret draw seed. These cannot change after announcement.
  • There is no entry fee. Eligibility is assessed automatically from the rules shown for that draw at the moment entries close.
  • When entries close, a snapshot of eligible members and their tickets is locked and its hash published. Winners are computed from the seed and snapshot; the seed is revealed with the results so anyone can verify them.
  • One prize per member per draw. Prizes are non-transferable. Gold prizes are credited to the vault balance; cash prizes to the wallet. Prizes may be subject to applicable tax (including TDS under Section 194B of the Income-tax Act where applicable).
  • Accounts that are fraudulent, duplicated or in breach of these terms are excluded and any prize may be forfeited.
  • We may cancel a draw for technical or legal reasons; the reason is published on the results page.
